Split-face Blocks

The natural rustic texture of a split-face block is a durable, economical and maintenance free alternative to many facings or veneers that are available today. We work with manufacturers that produce fade resistant integral pigments with provide consistent color. Units can also be manufactured with integral water repellant (if required) and insulation inserts. Most colors shown below are made to order with minimum quantity requirements (see our salesperson for more detail). We stock two colors in 8″ all the time; A-20 Coffee & A-50 Mist Gray. We can order sizes in 4″, 8″, 12″ & 8″ Quoins corners.

Our ground-face units are the ultimate in custom masonry. Possessing a smooth, terazzo-like finish, ground-face CUM replicate the subtle hues of granite and marble. A large selection of sizes and shapes are available. We can offer ground-face units in nearly every block we manufacture. Integral water repellant can also be added during production if required. As with all the block colors, a full line of matching mortars colors are also available. Block color selections are shown on the bottom. Custom colors and matches are also available.

Glazed Blocks

CMU glazed units are pre-faced architectural concrete masonry blocks that have a thermoset glazing compound permanently molded to one or more faces. This glazing compound is cured and heat- treated in gas-fired tunnel kilns — thus becoming an integral part of the unit. The glazed facings are molded in individual molds, ensuring dimensional uniformity of the glazed facing regardless of minor variations in the block.

Glazed concrete blocks manufactured in Pennsylvania are lightweight units conforming to ASTM C90. Glazed concrete units manufactured in Arizona are medium weight units conforming to ASTM C90. The glazed surface features a satin-gloss finish and externally heat-polymerized cast-on facing confirming to ASTM C744. All units contain Trenwyth-approved integral water-repellent CMU admixture at the time of manufacture to resist mold and moisture.
